Ambiently Finish Off Your Deck with Lighting
Nothing enhances the ambiance
of a deck like the soft 12-Volt deck lights that use the 4=Watt bulb
available today. There are top-shaded lights to light the steps of the
deck. They come in many styles. Perhaps the best style is one with the
shade across the top and the light beam flowing down lighting the way
to go up and down the stops.
There are post lights in many different styles, as well. The
old-fashioned carriage light reminesent of gas lights of old are
perhaps the most attractive. However, if individual taste runs to more
modern, then the modern -style fixtures are also available to light the
deck.
Soft lighting around the edge of the deck frames the deck, so that from
a distance the deck is friendly and inviting. Deck lighting comes in
many finishes, such as rustic, bronze, black, and gold or silver toned
metal. It is easy to find just the right deck lighting to match any
style of decor.
A relatively new arrival on the scene is the solar-powered light. It
requires only a battery to store up power from the sun and it will
shine for many hours, and many times all night long. The initial
investment may be a bit more for these lights but the upkeep and
maintence is less and the homeowner will find it worth his trouble to
try these new lights. Also, as we try to lessen our use of electricity,
the solar-powered light is a good answer.
