The important thing to remember is that any light fixture you choose must go with the overall design of the room.

Light inherently draws the eyes, and so care should be taken to make sure that light fixtures do not dominate other aspects of the decor. Good use of light fixtures can add warmth to a room and make it feel more comfortable. Above all, choose something that you personally like, because you are the one who has to see it everyday.
